Holiday Schedule

I've been working like a little elf in my workshop, keeping busy with your special custom orders for the Christmas season.  I must say, I'm inspired by what great gift givers I have as customers!  I will be accepting a few more orders, but you need to get them into me as soon as possible in order to receive them by Christmas.

On December 1st from 10-3pm, I'll be back at Heritage Farm for their Holiday Market.  I will have many new pieces available and be taking a few orders that will be ready in time for Christmas giving.  This is a great time to pick up the perfect gift!  Many local artisans will be there with their handcrafted items for sale.  You can find more information on their website http://www.heritagefarmmuseum.com/

I have the privilege of being CommonGround Shoppes featured find for December.  You can find all of my handcrafted beads and jewelry there the entire month of December . More information can be found here  https://www.facebook.com/#!/commongroundshoppes?fref=ts  I will also be their featured artist for December's Art Walk on December 20th (great for all you last minute shoppers).  This is one of my favorite local shops. They have so many cool, unique gifts...you just have to stop by and check them out

That's all of my December updates.  Please send me an email if you would like to request a special order or if you see a picture of something you like.  You can look for more of my beads and jewelry on Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/Beaduniquebykari .
Thanks for stopping by my blog and checking out what is going on in my little beadunique world!  I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy the holiday season with those you love!

Custom Orders

It's getting to be that busy time of the year for BEad Unique.  Christmas will be here before we know it! Yes, I said Christmas and I know its hard to even think about this early, but just think how nice it would be not to have to worry about finding that perfect gift during the busiest time of the year. Orders have been coming in and I'm already busy creating these one of a kind special gifts.  Below you can see examples of my puppies, but I can make just about anything you can dream up. I love trying new sculpted items.  Just send me your request and let me see what I come up with for you. Please remember, its never to early to pre-order your Christmas presents!

Playing Catch Up

I've been busy working on multiple projects and new things for BEadUnique.  I've had such big plans lately and just not able to get everything accomplished on my never ending to-do list.  I just want to say, I still love making beads as much as I did 2 years ago! The business part of things just seem to get in my way to create as much as I wish I could.
Here is what has been going on lately with BEadUnique.  I don't want to seem like I'm bragging, but this year began my year to jury for organizations and events that I would like to become a part of.  I just want to be able to share my work with others and feel accomplished in the career decision I've made.

My first Tamarack order
Tamarack
I juried into Tamarack, " The Best of West Virginia" in March.  It was such a great experience and I was beyond excited at the thought of my "wearable art" being sold at such a beautiful place.  I am very proud of this accomplishment and feel it opens up so many other doors for me as an artist.  I dropped my first order off and my work will be in the jewelry cases this week.  If you are ever traveling that way, I hope you will check out Tamarack and my little sculpted beads.

Tri State Arts Association

One of my jury pieces
Taking a risk paid off!  I've always wanted to be part of "Art in the Park".  In order to do so, I had to jury into the Tri-State Arts Association.  The only problem was, they do not accept jewelry makers, so  I juried in with my "sculpted" glass wearable art.  I was accepted into the organization and look forward to being part of it and educating other artists and the public why my glass beads are more than just jewelry.  If you haven't ever watched me demonstrate my art, it will open your eyes to the details and time I put into each and every one of my glass pieces.

Brazee School of Glass

Brazee is the first (and only) School of Glass I have ever been to and I was in love at first sight!  If I lived closer, I would probably be better off just moving in :)  They have so much more than just bead making, I want to take all the classes they offer (and so do my kids)!  I have the wonderful opportunity of being part of their Blue Gallery.  Super excited for my blue birds and blue cupcakes to make new homes in Ohio!

That is the latest news from me.  I am still in the works of having a private bead show for my friends, family and customers.  I haven't forgotten about those of you that have made all of this possible for me!  I want to show how much I appreciate the kind words and support from my loyal fans, it truly means more to me than any jury events!  Soon I will announce a date and send invites out for my private show.

Thanks for reading and showing your bead love!  ~Kari

A New Year Equals a Fresh Start

Reflecting on 2011
I am proud of what BeadUnique has become.  To keep it short and simple- It was busy, full of opportunities, full of leasons learned and knowledge gained.  It brought me and the family great friends and life lessons for so many different reasons and on so many different levels.
I look at my work and compare...what do you think?

 2011

I am still growing and look forward to what 2012 year brings me.

Currently BeadUnique is in a transitional phase.  Regrouping and deciding what is best for me as an artist and also what is best for the family.  I do know I will continue with the relationship I have with Heritage Farm and look forward to my events there.  I also know my focus is more on making beads and none of the other business details I worried about in 2011.

My beads will soon be at Travis and Hair Associates on 4th Ave. in Huntington and more locations to be announced very shortly.
