Playing Catch Up

I've been busy working on multiple projects and new things for BEadUnique.  I've had such big plans lately and just not able to get everything accomplished on my never ending to-do list.  I just want to say, I still love making beads as much as I did 2 years ago! The business part of things just seem to get in my way to create as much as I wish I could.
Here is what has been going on lately with BEadUnique.  I don't want to seem like I'm bragging, but this year began my year to jury for organizations and events that I would like to become a part of.  I just want to be able to share my work with others and feel accomplished in the career decision I've made.

My first Tamarack order
Tamarack
I juried into Tamarack, " The Best of West Virginia" in March.  It was such a great experience and I was beyond excited at the thought of my "wearable art" being sold at such a beautiful place.  I am very proud of this accomplishment and feel it opens up so many other doors for me as an artist.  I dropped my first order off and my work will be in the jewelry cases this week.  If you are ever traveling that way, I hope you will check out Tamarack and my little sculpted beads.

Tri State Arts Association

One of my jury pieces
Taking a risk paid off!  I've always wanted to be part of "Art in the Park".  In order to do so, I had to jury into the Tri-State Arts Association.  The only problem was, they do not accept jewelry makers, so  I juried in with my "sculpted" glass wearable art.  I was accepted into the organization and look forward to being part of it and educating other artists and the public why my glass beads are more than just jewelry.  If you haven't ever watched me demonstrate my art, it will open your eyes to the details and time I put into each and every one of my glass pieces.

Brazee School of Glass

Brazee is the first (and only) School of Glass I have ever been to and I was in love at first sight!  If I lived closer, I would probably be better off just moving in :)  They have so much more than just bead making, I want to take all the classes they offer (and so do my kids)!  I have the wonderful opportunity of being part of their Blue Gallery.  Super excited for my blue birds and blue cupcakes to make new homes in Ohio!

That is the latest news from me.  I am still in the works of having a private bead show for my friends, family and customers.  I haven't forgotten about those of you that have made all of this possible for me!  I want to show how much I appreciate the kind words and support from my loyal fans, it truly means more to me than any jury events!  Soon I will announce a date and send invites out for my private show.

Thanks for reading and showing your bead love!  ~Kari
